In September, we held a hog roast and outdoor disco at our head office, where we also auctioned off 24 barbecues (some with more features than my kitchen) and a load of accessories, with all proceeds going to one of our favourite local charities, Ashgate Hospice.
We’d like to say a huge thanks, and give a massive pat on the back to the many employees who contributed. After chasing down all of our winning bidders, we did a final count, and it turns out that we clocked up an incredible £1,295!
A few members of the marketing team, and our CEO Tim Minett visited the hospice to hand over the cheque, and were also taken on a tour of the entire unit by the lovely Emily, who you can see in the image above.
It turns out that Ashgate Hopsice do so much more than we all originally thought. Offering plentiful care and support to both the people who require their services, and their loved ones. The hospice provides somewhere for people to relax, read, listen to music, sit outside, and even enjoy simple comforts like a bath, which they may not have been able to do at home, or in hospital. There is even a specialised gym, and a chapel, which sees its fair share of weddings.

Graeme, our Business Development Director, turned out to be a fantastic, and absolutely hilarious auctioneer!

As you can see, the drinks were in full flow!
